This is a design made infamous by the wild child of surfing, Wayne Lynch. This was his board of choice to travel the world with. This design was also abandoned, like the vee-bottom when the shortboard revolution came through.

This design originally featured a wider, curvier and shorter outline with deep vee-panels, turned down rails, and more rocker. These boards were incredibly cutting edge for their time but can be quite difficult to surf.

My version of The Involvement is heavily based on the original design in keeping with the true feeling of the original board but designed in a way to make the board more user friendly.

Deep vee panels are replaced with a subtle spiral vee with flat sections before and behind the fin. This makes the board stable and fast in and out of turns with an increased rail to rail transition.

The board also has modern turned down rails helping to create a more sensitive vibe and give you more control at high speeds.

This board is often shaped with a rolled nose, making it fast. With all of this, The Involvement design is a great board if you want a dynamic, innovative approach to surfing a large variety of wave types.
